April, a vibrant 29-year-old woman, tragically lost her life under distressing circumstances. It is our shared responsibility to ensure that her untimely passing does not go unnoticed or unresolved.
The details surrounding April's death are deeply troubling. After a distressing argument between his parents, April’s 7-year-old son found his mother lying on the bathroom floor, unresponsive, with a plastic bag over her face. Despite her son's courageous efforts to seek help, April sadly succumbed to her injuries days later.
April's story is not unique. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. This equates to more than 10 million women and men each year (NCADV). We need justice for April Lynn Holt and countless others who have been victims of such heinous acts.
We are outraged by the lack of progress in the investigation of this case. No arrest have been made, leaving April’s family and loved ones in a state of anguish and despair during this holiday season.
We call upon our local law enforcement agencies and judicial system to thoroughly investigate this case ensuring that all facts are brought into light. We demand justice for April Lynn Holt so that her death will not be another statistic in domestic violence cases but a catalyst for change in our society's approach towards such abuse.
